At KubeCon Europe 2026 in Amsterdam, I had the pleasure of meeting the hosts of the Dutch Kubernetes Podcast (De Nederlandse Kubernetes Podcast) and several CNCF community members.

Meeting the Community

The Dutch Kubernetes Podcast is one of the most insightful podcasts in the Kubernetes community, covering Cloud Native topics from a European perspective. Meeting the hosts in person at their home conference in Amsterdam was a highlight of KubeCon EU 2026.

The conversation ranged from the state of Kubernetes adoption in the Netherlands to the growing focus on AI workloads, platform engineering, and the European approach to cloud sovereignty.

The Dutch Cloud Native Ecosystem

The Netherlands has one of the strongest Kubernetes communities in Europe. Amsterdam hosts major cloud providers, startups, and enterprises that are pushing the boundaries of cloud-native technology. The Dutch pragmatic approach to technology adoption β€” focus on what works, not hype β€” resonates throughout the community.

Key Discussion Topics

  • Platform Engineering in Europe: How Dutch companies are building internal developer platforms differently than Silicon Valley
  • AI on Kubernetes: The shift from experimental to production AI workloads on Kubernetes
  • Sustainability: Growing focus on green computing and energy-efficient infrastructure
  • Community building: How local meetups and podcasts strengthen the global CNCF ecosystem

Why Podcasts Matter

Community podcasts like the Dutch Kubernetes Podcast serve a critical role: they make complex technology accessible. Not everyone can attend KubeCon. Not everyone reads CNCF blog posts. But a well-produced podcast reaches people during their commute, their workout, or their lunch break.

If you work with Kubernetes, subscribe to the Dutch Kubernetes Podcast for a European perspective on Cloud Native.
